Since early 2022 UMCE has collected free-will offerings throughout each calendar year for our Towards Healing: Royalties for Spirituals project. On Sunday, March 15, we will take our first "Spirituals Sunday" free-will donations for 2026. 


UMCE's Royalties for Spirituals program is our way of taking a small step towards healing injustices that have faced the Black community for centuries, including the lack of compensation to the original enslaved composers of spirituals and the lack of royalties to their descendants. As we have done since the program's inception, we will pay forward our offerings towards scholarships to help young Black students of music who participate in Vocal Coalition Youth Choirs (VOCO).
