The Great Escape is a Preschool and Parent's Day Out program in Evergreen Colorado. The Great Escape serves children 15 months - 5 years.
The Great Escape's programs provide a safe, nurturing environment in which children learn through play and theme oriented experiences. Qualified staff provide children with a variety of age appropriate activities that enhance their growth and learning in the different aspects of development. Every child's uniqueness is respected and encouraged. Great Escape program emphasizes self-esteem, social development and language skills development.
The Great Escape Preschool curriculum is built to address the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of all children. Our teachers strive to develop each child's unique mind, body and spirit by providing an enriching environment of developmentally age appropriate learning experiences. We are committed to guiding the whole child, appreciating that school is not only about academics, but also social, emotional and personal growth. Weekly themes are used to create numerous activities that are fun and meaningful. Our preschool offers smaller class sizes, individual attention and qualified, experienced staff. We encourage parent visitation and participation. The Great Escape has been serving the Evergreen community for over 40 years.

Message from UMCE
Dear Parents and Friends of The Great Escape,
On behalf of the United Methodist Church of Evergreen, I’d like to express my deep gratitude for the amazing leadership that Julie has provided for The Great Escape for almost 20 years! I’m sure you join me in being very sad to see her go. At the same time, I’m excited for her as she begins this new chapter in her life, and I look forward to celebrating her as she leaves.
For the past year, the church has been working closely with Julie in laying the groundwork for a smooth transition as she retires. In January of 2024, the church put a transition team in place with members of the church and some parents of Great Escape students who also attend UMCE. We will continue to work with Julie throughout this year to ensure that there is no change in the quality of childcare or service for the children, parents, and teachers.
We will begin the search for a new director for Great Escape early next year, with the expectation of hiring someone who can begin shadowing Julie in April. We’ll keep you informed of how the hiring process is going as much as possible. Julie is graciously helping us with this process and we are very grateful for her insight and expertise.
As UMCE’s pastor, I can tell you that the church has always felt as though you and your children are an important part of our extended family. We look forward to continuing to serve you and your children in the coming year, as we have for the more than forty years that Great Escape has been a part of UMCE.
If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to me at any time. You can reach me by email at pastorsarah@evergreenumc.org.
Blessings,
Rev. Sarah Clark, UMCE Pastor
