A Second Time

This is a week of call-and-response. God calls Jonah – again and again – and Jonah finally concedes. There is a

persistence to God’s call, but in that, there is also a persistence in the need to respond. We cannot become

the people of God without responding to God’s call in our lives, but so often it is a dance, rather than a

command to follow. This week, we give thanks for God’s persistence in calling us to become the people of

God. And we celebrate that, by grace, it is never too late to join in God’s song of good news and abundant life.
