Generosity and Risk

WHAT?! What is Jesus trying to say here? Well, perhaps he’s being a bit sarcastic, talking to the disciples knowing that he is being overheard by the Pharisees and Scribes. Perhaps he is describing a new kind of relationship God is trying to build with the world – a new economy – one based not on enriching the most powerful, but on forgiving and restoring those in need. Perhaps he is trying to remind us that how we use our lives, our money, our talents – are choices. Perhaps he is encouraging us to love boldly and give extravagantly. On this last day of our series, we imagine how Jesus is inviting us to live into God’s economy.
