Sadness and Joy (Inside Out)

Aug 28, 2022    Rev. Sarah Clark

Inside Out is a story all about the feelings that live inside of us – Anger, Fear, Disgust, and – in the movie –
most especially Sadness and Joy. The psalmist says “weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes in the
morning” – a reminder that God’s love holds us and holds out for us the promise that eventually the night will
end and the morning will come. The film teaches us that sadness and joy are both important emptions to feel
and acknowledge – and the psalm does too – we have faith that God redeems even our deepest sorrows.
